CONSULTING CTO
Telenordia, a daughter company of British Telecom, offered fixed line business products, internet services and private fixed line services throughout Sweden. It was the business goal of Telenordia to consolidate their three subsidiaries’ IT organizations and to leverage economies of scale. As part of this reorganization, it was necessary to consolidate the billing operations and implement a new billing platform. Responsible for identifying IT organizational consolidation procedures and processes to ensure effective organizational and technical implementation to the new environment.
Responsible for identifying billing system requirements across the three business units and for developing the RFP that was distributed to billing and system integration vendors. Evaluated and scored the RFP, and identified best and final candidates. Each candidate was asked to perform proof-of-concepts and to host a meeting to discuss technical, functional and support features of their company and their products.
Established quick-wins to achieve in the consolidation of the business and IT operations
Identified and consolidated business unit requirements and evaluated appropriate vendors and their offerings related to the requirements.
Worked closely with representatives from Telenordia, British Telecom and their daughter companies to ensure that leverage of deployed systems were considered for the consolidated Telenordia environment.

Connect Austria (One)

Connect Austria was a startup operator in the privatized Austrian GSM market and was a joint venture between Telenor (Norway) and Viag Interkom (Germany). From startup, responsible for establishing the IT organization to handle internal data network, identify and deploy business support systems and identify and implement the billing system for GSM operations
Responsible for the team of system and business analysts to develop a strategic architecture for the systems to be deployed, and for gathering the business requirements that were fed into the RFP for business related systems and the billing system. Reported directly to the managing director as the IT representative, selected vendors for deployment of corporate data network and identified appropriate partners to customize and deploy systems based on Connect Austria’s requirements.
Established preferred list of vendors for billing operations, corporate data networks, business support systems and the Connect Austria customer care center.
Gathered and evaluated the billing system requirements, developed the RFP and evaluated and scored the results. Performed vendor lab visits to further evaluate the vendors ability to deliver, their architectural framework and functional capabilities.

Viag Interkom (O2)

Member of the senior IT staff reporting to the CIO that lead technology initiatives to enable a fixed line telecommunications company to introduce GSM services in the privatized German telecommunications market. Demonstrated expertise in business process design/improvement, systems architecture, planning and change management. Defined an integrated client-server application and systems architecture, defined the customer relationship management strategy, call center concepts, dealer strategy, defined guidelines for evaluating commercial software packages, processes for integrating commercial systems into the architecture and the software development processes.
Worked for customer service department of the mobile operations unit was awarded the 1997 German quality award for customer service.
Coaching to program and project managers on integrated systems goals and solutions in large information management environment.

Assisted in the design of the IT organization that grew from 15 people to over 150 and supported combined fixed line, GSM mobile and internet services.
Evaluated and identified the billing system provider and systems integration partner for consolidated billing operations and selected the Kenan Arbor BP platform for implementation.
